Piazza Duomo, after Mass
No, I didn’t attend Mass, nor did I go into any church while Mass was being celebrated. I simply sat at a bar outside the Duomo, the cathedral, on Sunday morning, sipping a milky coffee and munching on a cornetto crammed to the hilt with ricotta.
There was an air of festive joy as the crowd came down the steps of the cathedral. People called loudly to each other, children skipped around their parents and the balloon seller enjoyed great business.
Some small groups broke away and got on their bikes, still calling out loudly.
The only silence came from the Mime Artist.
Then almost everyone sat down to enjoy Sunday Lunch while the music played.
